As you clean out your personal closet it gives the owner a sense of accomplishment and organization of life. It then becomes a trickle affect and the individual starts to move from one project to the next. I think it's a great decision to organize your closet. How great is it to have matching hangers, color coded apparel and strategic placed shoes?
When you organize your closet, you organize your life. You become compelled to organize financial papers. How upsetting is it to not only lose a family member, but to have to hunt for life insurance policies, a will and etc? Let's begin by indicating important papers you must have today.
- Power of Attorney
- Power of Estate
- Will
- Guardianship (for minors)
- Life insurance policy with designated beneficiaries
- Living Trust
- Financial institutions with account numbers
As a person that has worked in retail financial services for years it's both frustrating and sympathetic for me to witness family members travel from one institution to the next in search of the deceased financial information.
I challenge each of you reading today's blog to organize your closet. It will change your life.
Be inspired,Bahiyah Shabazz
