In the Wilderness

Are you discouraged about your future?
Many of you are seeking opportunity such as employment and education. Believe me, in spite of the dilemmas that are going on you can still obtain your goals. I know society has become a right here and right now crowd. But as long as you fulfill your aspirations that is all that matters. Sometimes crossing the finish line is more important than how long it took you to run the marathon. You have to learn to set your goals at your own pace and not others.
What have you changed?
In order to look past the crowded trees you have to look toward the sky. Let your belief in yourself guide you through the wilderness. First, what have you changed about yourself, goals, and spending habits? You can't move on until you evaluate yourself and regard what you should do going forward. As I previously mentioned, I cut out many luxuries. This decision not only affected myself, but the family. At the same time it is allowing us to see through the wilderness.
My husband and I made the conscious decision to live within our means a long time ago. So when his department cut overtime we weren't affected. Many seem to believe he's only making it financially because of what I do for a living. That is simply not the case. We live frugal and discuss the finances with one another before making any sudden moves. Although, I must admit that's a behavior I'm still adjusting to after all these years. Heah! A girl has needs. I admit that I am a product junkie.
Are you afraid to turn on the news?
I know first hand that it can become depressing reading the paper and watching the news. I have become a CNN addict and I can't stop watching. Each morning I swear to give up the channel, but I get sucked in by the never ending suggestions about the economy. Since I work in the Financial field I want to stay educated and present my clients options. I am optimistic that one day this will all be over. As a matter of fact I know it will. This isn't the first crisis we've had. As I tell everyone about finances the market is a roller coaster ride. Get on, strap up, and enjoy the ride!

Be inspired,
