The job market is bleak, but you don't have to be. It's hard enough time keeping employment. Can you imagine attempting to find one? There are more people unemployed today than there have been in decades. The competition is tight and you might find yourself, with higher education, competing with someone that has less experience. Let's face it the ball is in the employer's hand at this point. The company is looking at the bottom line. Although, it wants to hire top quality employees it may not be able to afford to.
What are your passions?
This 'job market' is a great opportunity to release the entrepreneur in you. What have you been debating about for years? Believe it or not many paths and companies were established from a hobby from the owner. There's nothing better than performing what you love to do daily.
Consider this:
- Start your own company to supplement income
- Go back to school
- Volunteer (sometimes it's who you know)
Why worry about uncontrollable events?
The news can become depressing. Every time you read the paper or turn on the television another company is laying off. Again, think about what is in demand and how you can capitalize on the market. President Obama has paved a new road for small businesses with opportunity and tax breaks. I am confident once you establish a list of goals, opportunities, and a proposal you will be acknowledged such as any established company.
