As we all celebrate this country's Declaration of Independence. Let's not neglect our personal independent goals.

To have Independence means to:

• take care of yourself
• manage your finances
• support your household
• establish a nest egg/retirement savings
• contribute to your children's college plan

According to the American dictionary independence is 1. The state of quality of being independent. 2. Sufficient income for comfortable self support, a competence.
